Company history

The origins of Frutas Iru date back to the 1960s. It was originally located in the fruit and vegetable market on Ronda Street, in the emblematic Old Town of Bilbao

In 1971, the company moved to the recently opened Mercabilbao, where it is still located.

Since then and until now the company has grown steadily from a family-run firm to a Business Group managing different lines of business.

The key to Frutas Iru’s growth lies in continuous investment in both capital assets and human capital, which translates into a current staff of over 100 and facilities covering over 7,000 square metres.
